In what is no doubt a rather foolish decision from a marketing perspective, I've decided to publish Simulacrum here on itch without any buildup or promotional fanfare. This is a game I've been working on since early 2021 and nearly released in the spring before deciding to put a bit more into it. The game is heavily inspired by the films The Matrix and Dark City, so with The Matrix Resurrections hitting theaters in less than a week, it seemed like the perfect time to roll this game out.

It's a game that I've put a lot of thought into and I'm really excited to see what everyone thinks of it. I'm a little surprised that there aren't a lot of games out there based on The Matrix, so I hope Simulacrum will be just the game people are looking for after getting reacquainted with the series.

I do plan on doing a print run of the game at some point in the future, but I probably won't be running a Kickstarter for it as I've done in the past (unless there's a really big demand for the game that necessitates a large print run).  For now, though, I hope everyone enjoys the game in its current form!
